Hi, is this a scam email I received?
I’m pretty sure this is a scam since I don’t have any idea how they know I’m a finance and accounting major, and never gave my email address out to anyone, but I’m having a hard time figuring out just exactly what the scam is since they aren’t asking me for any personal information, even in follow up emails. anyway, this is what the email says:

Yes, it’s a scam. I am NOT a finance/accounting major and received the same email. A large company will not recruit employees in this manner and would not use a gmail account. Mine was from pite...@gmail.com. Also, a large company would not state that this position requires a HS diploma, but that a college degree is a plus. Most large companies expect a college degree so unless you are working an internship partnered with your school and are A) excelling in school and B) excelling in your internship, this type of offer would not be common. The other possibility of this type of job offer without a degree is that you are already employed by a company and have demonstrated outstanding performance and capability on the job.
You should cease communication; they are probably looking for your personal information…i.e. social security number, birth date, name…information to steal your identity. You say they haven’t asked…yet, but that will come when they “determine” you are their ideal candidate and want to “finalize” your application.

What do you think of my Political Ideology? Is it good? Bad? Perfect? If I become President (Long Question)?
I think the perfect society would be about 95% Capitalist, 5% Socialist. Right now, I think the United States is about 65% Capitalism, 35% Socialist.
Here it is.
We would basically function as a Capitalism society, benefiting the whole. A decent tax rate would be applied for Roads and partly public schools, parks. But this would be a fixed tax rate, not progressive.
Health Care would be Private Enterprise, Banks would be Private Enterprise, and small business owners would receive tax cuts. Health insurers would receive tax cuts to recruit more people. Schools would be privatized, as they would be competing for more students, education would be better, but there would be a very small public school system for people who could not afford it.
Social Security would be privatized, Medicare and Medicaid disbanded. But elderly could receive some benefits, in fact, wouldn’t pay taxes. The FCC, EPA, IRS, FDA, etc. These would be disbanded. FDA would be replaced with a nonprofit private organization and function as well as the ESRB (Private Game rating board) since their function is to do this, they could not be bribed. The IRS would be replaced with the NTA (National Taxation Administration) and would have less power, they could not take taxes out of bank accounts were people could not pay taxes. Taxes would not be completely forced, and auditing would be banned. People making under $40,000 would not be taxed at all, and everyone up would be taxed at a fixed rate of about %10-%15. FCC and EPA would be replaced with private charity, the EPA would be replaced by the Audubon society and not be funded by the government, but promoted by the government, the FCC would too.
Military spending would be much lower than $650 billion, I would lower it to about $500-$525 Billion, because this is what’s keeping us safe, but we don’t need a gigantic military, just an advanced one.
Unions would have NO lobbying power, and be discouraged, because of how abusive they are to business. But there would be a minimum wage, and business would be required to treat people well. Like today, without Unions. DEFINETLY not Teachers Unions, ACORN would not be funded.
Marijuana would be legalized, so would Gay Marriage and Abortion, it’s a free country; it’s about time we act like it. The “Drug Wars” would end, although Cocaine/Meth, etc. would still be banned.

What about Obama do Republicans hate?
I honestly don’t get it, and a solid, answer with evidence would be welcome.Im a moderate who voted for him and I still support him, yet for some reason all my conservative friends are screaming bloody murder about him, yet none of them can come up with any solid evidence to support their claims. Some insight into what they are thinking would be appreciated.
their only excuses are:
1)”hes putting us into debt with his massive failure of a stimulus bill!” fact is, he passed a $787 billion dollar stimulus bill to get the economy started and to support small companies. They didn’t seem to mind the $700 billion bailout that Bush gave to companies that failed under the free market system, (which is contradictory to the capitalist, “trickle down economics” theory.) Another truth, if someone even takes a high school economics course, they will realise that a stimulus package is what is needed to jumpstart the economy.
2) they say that despite his promises to create jobs, he has developed none. What many dont realize is that there is only two ways to create jobs in our capitalist system. one way is to order large amounts of product from companies and do large scale work projects. This is what we did in the great depression, and it worked, but would not work well today, because of the development of robotics and outsourcing to other countries in the field of manufacturing. The other way is to develop incentives to businessess to help them grow and hire more workers. Small businesses account for 65% of the jobs (mostly because large firms relocate many jobs to other countries), but have been reluctant to hire because of the state of our economy. All Obama can do is try to convince them to hire, but he cannot force them to give jobs.
3) “the Health Care Bill is in a gridlock!!” Yes it is. he can’t help it. the bill hasnt been reformed since the great depression, and no one wants to work across the aisle to fix it. the only way to fix that is for both democrats and republicans to work together. both sides are at fault here.
4) “He hasn’t done anything!” or “He’s done too much and screwed us over!” both are wrong. he is delving into deep, complicated issues which will be hard to resolve, so progress has come slowly. but people also cant say hes screwing us over because congress is too gridlocked to fully do anything that conservatives can hate.
5) “He is a Muslim”, or “He’s black” or “He isnt a US Citizen” Most people are not like this, and I usually dont have to talk to people who have this criticism. if you feel this is an issue, or even remotely true, then please dont respond to this question.
6)”He loves gays!” or “he’s a baby killer!” these are controvercial subjects, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. While you may not have voted for him for these reasons, they aren’t enough to say he is a terrible president, especially because he hasnt enacted any major legislation on the subjects. this is not a debate class so i’m not going to argue with anyone on this point.
again, im not trying to start a war. but a well educated response, with evidence to back it up would really help me learn.
the people i know arent complaining about his values, but his economic policies. and by the way, the bush bill was the bailout, and obamas was a stimulus. the difference is a bailout buys out failing companys, while a stimulus stimulates the economy by cutting taxes and creating jobs
[Translate]
I don’t hate obama, I hate his policies. I do think that he is driving us further into debt, and no i did not support bush’s stimulus either.
He is not creating jobs, his polcies are at odds with small business, his healthcare plan hits them hardest while protecting unions. his “green jobs” are a joke, he is failing to support nasa the way he promised, and those are highly skill jobs that directly impact and encourage the local economy in that area.
his stance on the economy is laughable, bailing out companies only serves to institutionalize them and set the people up to pick up their tab when they continue the practices that caused them to fail in the first place.
i would continue but i doubt there is any point.

How easy is it to set up a small business server with Microsoft Small Business Server i have good IT knowledge?
I have a main high powered computer that will run the Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 as a OS. This is connected via Ethernet into the router switch with the 15 computers attached to the switch too. I want to set up a system with free roaming user accounts on the 15 computers. How easy will it be for me to set up this system, I have great knowledge in most areas of IT like Networks but not much experience with servers. Also what operating system will need to be installed on the client computers?

How can so manypeople misunderstand the “bailout” and actually believe they are somehow punishing Wall Street?
Why doesn’t anyone understand that if there is a lack of credit, it IS NOT the Wallstreet behemoths that won’t be able to finance a payroll. It is the smaller, privately run businesses that will be left without the credit.
It IS Main Street that will suffer the most. Your job WILL go away. Your mortgage and other loan/credit interest rates WILL go up. Your retirement accounts WILL be decimated. Your small business WILL fail.
Also, it is NOT a bailout. In return, the taxpayers will OWN the companies in question. The money injected into the system will free up credit for struggling SMALL businesses, and may very well turn a PROFIT for taxpayers. The government is NOT just GIVING the Wall Street firms money. For once, I would love to see the American public educate themselves intead of making emotional decisions based on media-based misrepresentations.
The media has coined the term “bailout”, when in reality (yes, YOUR reality) it is a rescue effort.
[Translate]
First, those who have earned a good credit rating will have credit and receive credit… “lack of credit” will not exist. We will simply return to a time when you had to justify your means for credit. Hence, some will not receive credit, but they are the ones who should not receive credit in the first place. THAT (unqualified borrowers) are part of this whole crisis, and they should not receive more credit if they cannot be approved for it.
Second, yes, this crisis will hurt some businesses, and some people may suffer a job loss. However, we cannot sustain all businesses at the expence of taxpayers.
Yes, our loan interest rates will go up… thank goodness. Finally, people will not be so willing to incur debt so they can have what they want now. In the past, generations saved up their money BEFORE they purchased what they wanted. Hence, they had little outstanding debt. Today, we do not want to save a 20% down payment on a house or save up for that “big screen tv.” We would rather have the item now and worry about the payments later. Luckily, if interest rates are more, people will be less likely to use loans and credit cards.
Last, our retirement accounts may take a hit, BUT they did in the 80′s, and they rebounded wonderfully. I find it very naive for people to believe that our market will never fail, our housing “bubble” will never burst, and that our economy will never suffer corrections.
Thus, I disagree with your premise, and I, for one, do not think that the government should be responsible for rescuing individuals and companies and that made reckless, irresponsible decisions.

Web Designers and Small Business Owners, should I charge my boss for making him a website?
I am a secretary for a home security business (fire/smoke alarms, burglar alarms, security systems, etc). It is a small business, operated from the owner’s home. They have many clients and aren’t in any danger of closing from lack of funds, but the business has gotten by purely through word of mouth (client testimonials) and small phone book and/or newspaper ads. I know that a website would greatly help the business and bring in more clientele, more accounts, and broaden the possibilities for the future. I know my boss would love the idea of a website and I am HTML literate and can build websites sufficiently enough in programs like Dreamweaver for them to be professional and easily navigable.
My problem, is that I don’t know how much to charge him for the website maintenance, building, etc. I am not a web designer by trade, it has been purely a hobby of mine to fiddle with HTML. I’m not looking to charge him as if I were a professional web designer, but I don’t want to do all of this additional work free of charge — you know it takes time to design, build, and upkeep a website. I plan on being with this job for a long while and even if I left for another job, he would probably want me to maintain the website anyway. [He is a friend of the family and is not particularly computer savvy and doesn't know where to start looking for a dependable other to maintain the website].. Should I charge him a flat fee for the website creation and then a monthly fee? Or should I just get him to increase my salary a bit and make it a part of my job description so that it is a normal duty? Web designers and small business owners, please, your experience here would be much appreciated! I want your opinion, what should I do? Thank you!!
[Translate]
Take a look at what local website designers in your area charge and maybe knock 20% off?
Perhaps you could offer to build a website on his behalf for free but retain legal ownership of it. Then charge a set fee for each new customer the website gets him – make sure new customers are asked how they found out about the business.
It’s quite difficult to say what the best option is as only your know your boss well enough. Weigh up your options carefully and then present them to your boss. Be sure to back it with information about how an online presence can increase sales.
Good luck
